The Birth of War Room Ministries (Thanksgiving 2024)
War Room Ministries began its mission on Thanksgiving Day, 2024. After years of seeking the Lord for direction and confirmation of stepping into the shepherd role. We sat around the dining room table, Kenneth Miller, Ethan Thornton, Victoria Winder and her husband, Minister Devine Winder, Gwendolyn Brown, and Elder Brandon, and Jocelyn Jenkins with their children, Beniah and Israel. Kim McKinnon joined via Zoom.
Our first board members were established as Dr. Nicole Hale, Minister Wendy Waddell, and Minister Deion Payton. The First Bible Study (January 9, 2025)
We agreed to begin our initial Bible study on January 9, 2025. The lesson came from Genesis 6:13–22 and was entitled “Hope in God.” Those presents were Kenneth Miller, Ethan Jr., Devine Wynder, Victoria Wynder, Vanessa Hall, Gwendolyn Brown, and Brandon Jenkins. Mission, Vision, and Early Growth (February–May 2025).
On February 9, 2025, our Mission and Vision were completed. On March 20, 2025, we held our first corporate prayer meeting in our home. The prayer
was Spirit‑filled and uplifting. Many prayed for God’s mercy in the world, for change, for obedience, and for the strength to keep our eyes on Him.
Prayer and Bible study continued every Thursday at 7:00 pm. Over time, those who were once afraid to pray openly began to pray boldly. The Lord blessed us week after week, sharpening us through His Word.
As the ministry grew, so did our teachers. On May 15, our teaching team expanded to include Sis. Gwendolyn and Sis. Kim, and later Sis. Victoria and Sis. Jocelyn. First Home Service and New Members (July–October 2025)
On Sunday, July 20, 2025, we held our first home service with 13 in attendance. Pastor Miller preached “Fit for the Fight” from 1 Samuel 17:9.
On August 17, 2025, Gwendolynn Batchelder gave her heart to the Lord and became a member of War Room Ministries.

Pastor Theresa L. Miller is the founder of War Room Ministries. She is a warrior in the Kingdom of God. For more than twenty years, the Lord has allowed her to serve His people with deep spiritual conviction, seasoned leadership, and a heart fully committed to His work. Long before she stepped into formal ministry training, the Lord called her into pastoral ministry. That call came early, clear, undeniable, and confirmed through prayer, spiritual leaders, and the burden God placed in her heart for His people.
She accepted it with humility, knowing that God was assigning her to shepherd, intercede, and equip the saints for Kingdom work.
As she walked out that call, the Lord led her to pursue academic preparation that would sharpen and perfect what He had already spoken. She holds a Master of Divinity in Educational Ministries from Liberty University, as well as a Bachelor of Science in Religion with a concentration in Evangelism, where she graduated Cum Laude.
This training strengthened her ability to preach, teach, and witness to the wonder‑working power of God with clarity and depth. She strives to live with the grace and devotion of a Proverbs 31 woman. She is blessed to share life and ministry with her husband, Deacon Kenneth Miller, and together we cherish our four adult children—Marcus, Janay, Victoria, and Ethan—and our four beautiful grandchildren.
Her life is a testimony of God’s enduring love, mercy, and faithfulness. I often say that because of my assignment, I stay on “Satan’s hit list,” but I remain steadfast and unshaken. Her confidence is anchored in my favorite scripture, Psalm 27:3–4
She stands today as a living witness that God is still powerful, still present, and still working miracles. Her assignment is simple: to lift up Jesus, to strengthen His people, and to advance His Kingdom with boldness, humility, and unwavering faith.
